JavaScript Developers & Geekstars

Alex Russell had an interesting post about the intertwined nature of Client and Server side programming when you are developing web apps. I completely agree with his assertion anyone who can credibly claim to have written a non-trivial amount of idiomatic JS are well equipped for the job. I think this is partially because the books about JavaScript are mostly crap (excluding JavaScript: The Definitive Guide).

Anyone who knows JavaScript to the degree that Alex refers has shown dedication and maturity. In the process of updating el burro, I spent a lot of time dealing with closures and scoping. I've yet to spend a significant amount of time with inheritance in JavaScript so I'm afraid I'm not qualified to be a geekstar (yet - the night is still young! 4am!)
