It is nice to have a UPS, but you need to make sure that it doesn’t become a point of failure.

I have a nice one that has always worked in the past, so I was suprised yesterday when all of a sudden everything died – my home server, desktop, and my laptop went to battery mode.

I look over and see my cat standing on the UPS. Great, my system was taken down by an animal that spends 90% of her day sleeping. Lucky cat!
