Search is a fundamental part of how I use the internet - why do I have to visit a web page to get the results? Searchy brings the results to your browser as you type.
The Basics
Install the Firefox extension from addons.mozilla.org.
To use Searchy, you hit a key shortcut (the default is ctrl-shift-k for windows/linux and apple-shift-k for osx) and you see a UI that lets you search without opening a new page. As you type your search results come back and are displayed inline without having to leave the page. Select a result using your keyboard arrows then hit return to view result.
Searchy saves your last search query and results for each window, taking you back exactly where you were in case you need to try another result.
Search within site
Many times you end up on the right site but not on the right page. Searchy can help you find the right page by searching within the current site (domain). If you start your query with an @ symbol the results are restricted to the current site.
